According to The Times of India, the Pink Line of the Pune Metro opened to public travel on a Wednesday, but four stations in Baner and Balewadi remained closed. The line is a 23 km elevated corridor, and residents of the two neighbourhoods expressed disappointment about the closures.

Closed stations in Baner and Balewadi

The stations that did not open are Baner Gaon, Baner-Pashan Link Road, Balewadi Phata and Balewadi High Street. Commuters told the newspaper that many people from Baner and Balewadi travel towards Hinjewadi and Civil Court, so the closures affect them directly.

Alternative stations

Passengers from these areas boarded trains at Aundh, RK Laxman Museum Balewadi and MITCON Balewadi stations on the opening day, the report said.

Other stations not yet functional

In total, six of the 23 stations on the new stretch are still not functional, according to The Times of India. Besides the four stations in Baner and Balewadi, Shivajinagar and Bhosalenagar-RBI, both on University Road, are also shut.

The report does not say when the closed stations will reopen. Passengers planning trips on the line should check for updates from the Pune Metro before travelling.
