By using The Metro Map you agree to these terms. They are short on purpose. If anything is unclear, ask us.

What the site is

The Metro Map is an interactive map of metro systems around the world, with pages about networks, lines and stations. It is an informational project, free to use, and it is not affiliated with any transit operator.

Information, not a travel guarantee

The data comes from open sources and can be incomplete, out of date or wrong (see how we make the map). We do not show real-time information, timetables or fares. Check with the operator before you travel. The site is provided "as is", without warranties, and we are not liable for decisions made from it.

Data and licenses

• Geometry and names come from OpenStreetMap, © OpenStreetMap contributors, under the Open Database License (ODbL).
• Identifiers and multilingual names come from Wikidata, available under CC0.
• Country outlines come from Natural Earth, in the public domain.
• If you reuse data from this site, keep the attribution those licenses require. The text, design and code of the site are ours, and you may not copy them wholesale to republish elsewhere.

Artificial intelligence

We use artificial intelligence tools to help draft some text, such as short summaries. Facts must come from the open sources above or from a cited source, and text is reviewed by a person before it is published. News and incident summaries always link to the original source. AI can still make mistakes, so please tell us if you spot one.

Advertising

The site may show ads served by Google when they are turned on. Ads are always labelled, never placed over the map or its controls, and are shown only after you give consent where the law requires it. Details on cookies and data are in the privacy page. We are not responsible for the content of advertisers' sites.

Acceptable use

Do not try to break, overload or scrape the site in a way that harms other users, and do not use it for anything unlawful. We may limit access to protect the service.

Corrections, rights and removal

If something is wrong, or you are a rights holder or an operator who wants content corrected or taken down, contact us with the page address and what should change. We will review every removal request and act on well-founded ones as soon as we can.

Changes

We may update these terms. The version on this page is the one in force, and continued use means you accept it.
