According to Lyon Capitale, the national strike on Thursday 5 November 2026 will bring major disruption to the TCL network in Lyon. No metro or funicular service is expected all day. The four metro lines A, B, C and D will not run, and neither will the two funiculars F1 and F2. The line A, which had been planned to operate the day before, will also be shut down.

Tramways are the main alternative for passengers, although service is reduced on several lines. Lines T2, T5, T6 and T7 are expected to run normally. Line T1 will have a tram roughly every six to seven minutes, and line T3 about every eight to nine minutes. Line T4 will only run between Hôpital Feyzin Vénissieux and La Doua Gaston-Berger, with a tram every seven to eight minutes. The trambus TB12 is scheduled every fifteen minutes.

Buses and school services

The bus network is also affected. Seven lines will not run: 89EX, 127, BR60, PL1, PL2, PL3 and PL4. Lines C2, C16, C17, C26, 31, 41, 43, 89, 90, 104A, 110, 110EX and 126 will operate at reduced frequency. Most Junior Direct school lines are expected to run, although departures have been cancelled on thirteen lines, notably in the west of the Rhône department.

Rhônexpress and Navigône are not concerned by the strike. TCL agencies and park-and-ride facilities are due to remain open.

Background of the strike

The CGT des TCL Mode Lourd union has called on metro, tram and funicular staff to stop work. The union is asking for a monthly pay rise of 200 euros and criticises the proposals made by the management of RATP Dev Lyon as insufficient.

Further disruption could occur depending on the demonstrations planned across the Lyon area on the same day. Passengers are advised to check real-time traffic information before travelling.
