According to Ara, citing Transports Metropolitans de Barcelona (TMB), line L2 of the Barcelona Metro is closed between La Pau and Gorg stations from Monday 2 November until 3 December. The closure is for infrastructure work.
Why the line was cut
TMB managing director Xavier Flores said last week that the line had been cut because of a problem in the tunnel platform between Artigues and Sant Roc stations. A routine inspection found a crack in a section where the track runs beneath the Besòs river, and the crack has to be repaired.
The information released does not fully explain how the defect between Artigues and Sant Roc relates to the works between La Pau and Gorg, so passengers should check official TMB updates for details.
Alternatives for passengers
Flores recommended that passengers use rail alternatives during the month of closure. According to the information released, a replacement bus service also covers the route between La Pau and Gorg.
- Closed stretch: La Pau to Gorg, from 2 November to 3 December.
- Replacement: a bus service covering the same route.
- Recommended: other rail options, as suggested by TMB.
