According to La Tercera, Metro de Santiago will extend its service on the closing night of the Teletón, held at the Estadio Nacional in Ñuñoa. The event runs on Friday 6 and Saturday 7 November, and the closing takes place during the night of the last day.

Which lines and stations are affected

Metro de Santiago announced an extension of service at nine stations on Line 3 and Line 6. The extension covers 10 access points in total. The aim is to help attendees get back home after the event.

Operating hours

Service will run until 03:30 on Sunday 8 November. According to the report, this is four and a half hours later than the network's usual closing time.

Elevator renewals at Ecuador station

The announcement was made at Ecuador station on Line 1, where one of the Teletón's rehabilitation centers is located. Metro also renewed two elevators at that station to make movement easier for passengers.

Metro said this work is part of a wider program that has put 73 renovated elevators into service on its conventional lines, with a particular focus on Lines 4, 4A and 5. Felipe Bravo, general manager of Metro, said the company wants all passengers, especially those with reduced mobility, to travel more comfortably, safely and independently.

Teletón's view

María José Zaldívar, executive director of Fundación Teletón, said the collaboration is essential for helping people take part in an event that brings everyone together. Passengers planning trips to or from the stadium on those nights should check Metro's information for the nine stations involved.
