Works on tram T3a in southern Paris

According to RATP, part of the T3a tram line in southern Paris will be closed for about a week, from Monday 26 October to Sunday 1 November 2026. Service is interrupted between Stade Charléty and Porte d'Ivry, according to actu.fr Île-de-France.

The reason given is a major track renovation project. According to RATP, the work is part of a modernisation programme being rolled out progressively on other sections of the line and across the wider network until 2030.

Stops affected

Three stops in the 13th arrondissement of Paris will not be served during the closure: Porte de Choisy, Porte d'Italie and Poterne des Peupliers. Passengers in the area will have fewer options for transfers, in particular with metro lines 7 and 14 and with tram T9.

Alternatives

RATP will run replacement buses between Stade Charléty and Porte d'Ivry. Tram T3a will keep operating normally on two separate sections: between Stade Charléty and Pont du Garigliano, and between Porte d'Ivry and Porte de Vincennes.

Why this line matters

In 2023, the T3a carried around 66 million passengers, according to the figures cited by actu.fr Île-de-France. It runs along the southern part of the boulevards des Maréchaux and is the second busiest tram line on the Île-de-France Mobilités network, just behind the T3b, which was recently extended and serves the northern section between Porte Dauphine and Porte de Vincennes.

Travellers using the affected stops during the closure will need to plan their journeys around the replacement buses and the two operating sections of the line.
