According to Rijnmond — Nieuws, Rotterdam travellers face several disruptions this weekend. Road closures affect the A20, the A27 and the Maastunnel route, and metro line C also has engineering work on Sunday.

Metro line C on Sunday

On Sunday, metro line C does not run through the Beneluxtunnel because of track work. According to Rijnmond — Nieuws, passengers travelling from De Terp can only take the metro as far as Vijfsluizen. Passengers from De Akkers can go no further than Pernis.

The RET will run buses as replacement transport while the work is carried out.

Maastunnel route closure

According to Rijnmond — Nieuws, the 's-Gravendijkwal is closed to all traffic in both directions between the Rochussenstraat and the Maastunnel this weekend. Traffic heading from north to south can reach the Maastunnel only via the Droogleever Fortuynplein. Traffic from south to north is guided out of the tunnel towards the Droogleever Fortuynplein and the Westzeedijk.

The closure is linked to building a footbridge from the Little C building, part of the Familiehuis Daniel den Hoed, to the Erasmus MC. Parts of the bridge will be lifted into place on Saturday morning and evening.

Motorway closures

The A20 towards Rotterdam is closed from Friday evening until Monday morning at 05:00 between knooppunt Gouwe and exit 16 Capelle aan den IJssel/Zevenkamp, for asphalt work. The A27 towards Utrecht is closed for the whole weekend from Gorinchem between Everdingen and Lunetten, and the road is also closed in the other direction. Traffic is diverted via the A2 and A12.

According to Rijkswaterstaat, planned work on the A15 between Rotterdam-Charlois and the Benelux junction will not take place this weekend and has been postponed to next year. The N3 at the Papendrechtsebrug will stay closed until April 2027.
