According to Diário do Transporte, SPTrans will add 39 extra municipal bus trips on Sunday, November 1, 2026, the day of the first phase of the FUVEST 2027 entrance exam. The extra service runs between Butantã Station, on Metro Line 4-Yellow, and the Cidade Universitária campus in the west of São Paulo.
What changes on the day
Lines 8012/10 and 8022/10 will run a total of 194 trips during the day, compared with 155 trips normally scheduled. Line 8012/10 receives 15 extra trips and Line 8022/10 receives 24. The additional service is concentrated between 10:00 and 14:00, which covers the arrival of candidates, the opening of the gates at 12:00 and their closing at 13:00.
The reinforcement is measured in trips only. According to the report, it does not permanently change the routes of either line.
Free fares
Buses on both lines are free in both directions because of the Domingão Tarifa Zero program, which allows free use of municipal bus lines on Sundays from 00:00 to 23:59. The benefit applies to all passengers, not only to exam candidates. Metro and metropolitan train trips follow their own fare rules.
Choosing the right bus
The campus is large, and the two lines take different routes inside it. Line 8012/10 serves areas such as the Faculty of Education, the Reitoria and the Polytechnic School, and ends at the internal terminal near Portaria 3. Line 8022/10 passes through Rua Professor Mello Moraes and ends at the USP Terminal, also near Portaria 3. Candidates are advised to check the exact address of their exam building before travelling and to choose the line that serves that area. Walking within the campus may be needed between the bus stop and the exam building.
Getting to Butantã
Candidates coming from other parts of the city can take Line 4-Yellow and get off at Butantã Station, then transfer to the bus terminal. According to the report, Line 4-Yellow also connects with other transport systems at Luz, República, Paulista and Pinheiros stations.
Exam details
The first phase has 106,165 registered candidates, including those in training mode, for 8,147 places offered by the University of São Paulo. The exam will have 80 multiple-choice questions, instead of 90 in previous editions, and will last five hours. Passengers can check schedules and bus positions through SPTrans's Olho Vivo system and official trip-planning tools.
