According to g1 Ceará, the state government announced that metro and light rail (VLT) lines in Fortaleza, Sobral and the Cariri region will run free of charge on Sunday, November 8, and Sunday, November 15, 2026. Those are the dates of the Enem 2026 exams, the National High School Exam.
Who can ride for free
Passengers will pass through the turnstiles without showing a transport card, identity documents or proof of exam registration. People who are not registered for Enem can also use the service at no cost.
On both Sundays, passengers may board with bicycles throughout the whole operating period.
Sobral VLT schedules
The source lists the following operating hours for November 8 and 15:
- VLT de Sobral, Linha Sul: 10:33 to 18:48
- VLT de Sobral, Linha Norte: 10:30 to 19:33
Earlier closing on Saturdays
Because the metro and VLT normally do not operate on Sundays, the lines will close earlier on the preceding Saturdays, November 7 and 14, according to g1 Ceará. Passengers should check the timetables on the Metrofor website before travelling.
Enem registrations in Ceará
According to the Ministry of Education (MEC), Ceará had 261,923 registrations for Enem 2026. That is a drop of 5%, or 14 thousand fewer candidates than the previous year.
