According to Diário do Transporte, Motiva, formerly CCR, carried 195.6 million passengers on its train, metro and light rail concessions between July and September 2026. That is 0.5% more than the 194.7 million recorded in the same quarter of 2025. The figures come from the company's third-quarter financial report. Below are the results for the São Paulo concessions.

ViaMobilidade: Lines 8 and 9

The concession for Line 8-Diamante and Line 9-Esmeralda carried 62.4 million passengers in the quarter, up 0.9%. From January to September, it carried 183.7 million passengers, a rise of 3.2%. Fare revenue went from R$ 237 million to R$ 241 million, an increase of 1.7%.

Motiva links the operational performance to the opening of Varginha station on Line 9-Esmeralda, which extended rail service in the south zone of the capital. The integration with Santo Amaro station, where Line 9 connects with Line 5-Lilás, is also cited as a factor.

The lines have faced operational problems, interruptions and service quality complaints since the private concession began in January 2022. Diário do Transporte notes that the 0.9% quarterly growth alone does not show that these problems have been resolved. Fleet renewal and modernization should be reflected in fewer failures, more regular service and shorter travel times.

ViaQuatro: Line 4-Yellow

ViaQuatro carried 51.996 million passengers from July to September, a decline of 0.4% from 52.201 million a year earlier. Over the first nine months, it carried 152.755 million passengers, up 0.6%. Motiva attributed part of the demand difficulties to a less favorable calendar and heavy rain.

Fare revenue rose from R$ 200 million to R$ 209 million, an increase of 4.5%. Total gross revenue fell from R$ 1.139 billion to R$ 284 million. According to the source, this drop does not mean the operation lost most of its passenger income. The 2025 base included extraordinary accounting effects linked to Termo Aditivo nº 10, which extended the concession by 20 years and is tied to the extension of Line 4-Yellow to Taboão da Serra. The 2025 balance recognized about R$ 894 million in effects related to that amendment.

ViaMobilidade: Lines 5 and 17

The concession for Line 5-Lilás and Line 17-Ouro recorded 43.974 million passengers in the quarter, up 0.8%. In the nine-month period, it carried 129.704 million passengers, a rise of 2.4%. Fare revenue increased from R$ 113 million to R$ 120 million, up 6.2%.

Operating expenses with third-party services rose, mainly because rolling stock maintenance was outsourced. Motiva presents this as a way to improve cost predictability and efficiency. For passengers, the effect should be seen in train availability, service regularity and the time needed to fix failures. Line 17-Ouro is a monorail with different technical features, and the reported financial data for the two lines are not separated.
