According to Metro Bilbao, which reported the disruption on its website, delays are affecting the network widely due to technical causes. Sources from the operator told El Correo that service is temporarily suspended between Etxebarri and Basauri, while trains continue to run between Bolueta and both banks of the estuary.

Line 1 changes

Line 1 trains heading from Bolueta towards Plentzia turn back at San Ignacio, so trains serving the right bank do not continue beyond that station. Trains reach Bolueta as usual.

Line 2 and alternatives

Line 2 is running normally between Bolueta and Kabiezes. Metro sources advised that passengers travelling from Bilbao to the right bank should take a Kabiezes train to San Ignacio and change there.

Stations and crowds

Etxebarri, Ariz and Basauri stations are closed. According to El Correo, many people are waiting on platforms and in trains that are still operating. Passengers are also gathering at taxi stands, such as the one at Carlton.

Metro Bilbao staff are working to resolve the problem. El Correo says its newsroom is updating and completing the information, so passengers should check the operator's website and official channels for the latest status.
