According to the Light Rail Transit Authority (LRTA), 1,204 passengers aged 17 and below rode LRT Line 2 for free on November 4, 2026. The trips were part of the celebration of the 34th National Children's Month in the Philippines.

The initiative was one way the agency supports the rights, safety and overall welfare of Filipino children. By offering free trips, LRTA aimed to give young passengers safe and convenient access to public transportation while joining the nationwide observance.

Free ride hours

Free rides were offered during two windows on the day: 7:00 AM to 9:00 AM, and 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM. According to LRTA, the program responded to an initiative of the National Council for Children's Welfare, which wanted the celebration to be meaningful for Filipino children.
